Our Pledge: SkyAngels Air Ambulance and the Armed Forces Covenant

Section 1: Principles of The Armed Forces Covenant

SkyAngels Air Ambulance formally commits to the adoption and implementation of the Armed Forces Covenant. All business operations and commercial dealings shall be conducted in accordance with the core principles of this national agreement. The organizational objective is to ensure that the Armed Forces community is integrated into the operational framework without prejudice or operational hindrance.

The foundational principles governing this commitment are as follows:

  • Elimination of Disadvantage: No member of the Armed Forces community shall experience a disadvantage in the provision of commercial medical transportation or public services when compared to any other citizen. This principle applies to serving personnel, veterans, and their dependents.
  • Provision for Special Circumstances: Specific protocols shall be established to provide appropriate consideration and specialized treatment for individuals who have sustained injuries or experienced bereavement within the context of military service. Technical assistance and priority medical repatriation services may be allocated based on the severity of the clinical requirement and service history.

SkyAngels Air Ambulance recognizes that the intersection of military discipline and specialized medical care is vital for the execution of high-risk air ambulance missions. The institutional voice of the organization remains dedicated to the technical standards required to support those who have served.

Section 2: Demonstrating Organizational Commitment

SkyAngels Air Ambulance acknowledges the technical expertise and strategic value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families contribute to the specialized aviation and medical sectors. The organization shall maintain the following commitments to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant:

  • Qualification Recognition: Military-acquired skills, including battlefield medicine, technical flight engineering, and command logistics, shall be weighted appropriately during the selection process.
  • Career Transition Partnership (CTP): Formal engagement with the Career Transition Partnership shall be maintained to facilitate the employment of service leavers into clinical and operational roles.
  • Medical Specialization: Preference is given to applicants with experience in military medical repatriation and emergency trauma response to ensure the highest standard of patient care during emergency medical flights.
